I offer transformational
workshops, retreats, coaching, and consulting for leaders and teams.

At its best, leadership is a creative practice.

I help leaders and their teams

  • understand your creative strengths

  • identify the key crisis points in the creative process and explore how the creative diversity of your team can help you move through them

  • nurture cultures of creativity and belonging

  • learn to approach problems with a creativity mindset instead of a productivity mindset

The Imperfection Option

Excellence-seeking teams often find that their own perfectionism is the biggest barrier to achieving the incredible results they can envision. Learn how perfectionism operates as an anti-creative system, and how you can turn down the inner voices of perfectionism, stop fostering a culture of perfection, and re-focus on creative thriving.

Leading from Your Creative Center

Creativity is not a talent or a trait, it is a way of being in relationship to yourself, to each other, and to the problems you are trying to solve. Learn the difference between an ethos of productivity and an ethos of creativity and how to apply a creativity mindset to the challenges you face. We’ll apply a framework of seven core practices of creating and explore the specific steps you can take to embrace creativity as a shared ethos of your team.

Discover Your Team’s Creative Constellation

Map your team’s creative strengths! Too often we jump to trying to “get more creative” before we stop and ask “How am I creative?” Using Sara's original Creative Constellations Framework, each member of your team identifies their own unique array of creativities. Then, we identify the zones of creative power of your group as a whole and discover how your creative strengths complement and balance each other, and where there might be creativity gaps where your team needs extra support.

Leading Through the Cycle of Creating

Creating is a cyclical process that takes your team members through a predictable set of challenges. Your team will learn to recognize each of the five thresholds that they must pass through as they evolve themselves and move your mission forward. Participants leave with a toolkit of skills and strategies to help them sustain creative momentum and spend less time getting stuck or retreating from creative challenges.

Each workshop can be adapted to half-day, full-day, or multi-day formats.

Dear Sara,

Thank you so much for the incredible half-day "Imperfection Option" workshop you created for our Family Medicine residents. Your humor and insight, along with left and right-brained activities, inspired us to craft a vision of a creative professional life that is sustainable and meaningful.

Through the use of literature, self-reflection, artistic creation and shared stories our young physicians developed new confidence and skill in maintaining compassion for themselves and their patients, recognizing what is healthy striving versus limiting perfectionism.

My residents reflected on how quickly you established a safe environment for us, a space in which to be vulnerable and honest about our limitations and fears - something physicians don't readily do with one another.

Your work has had a lasting impact on me and my residents and we have already begun to integrate the workshop concepts into our required curriculum for future classes.

We cannot thank you enough for bringing your remarkable skill and creativity to the training of physicians.
